The Magritte Museum (Musée Magritte in French and Magritte Museum in Dutch) is part of the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium dedicated to the Belgian surrealist artist René Magritte. The Museum is open since 2009 and with its more than 2500 m² it has the world’s largest collection of the artist with around 230 works and archives. This collection came directly from its wife Georgette Magritte and from Irene-Hamoir Scuternaire, a Belgian novelist and poet, but also a member of the Belgian surrealist movement and collector of the works of René Magritte.
Each year, it is more than 300 000 visitors from all over the world that come to discover the works and the live of René Magritte.
